Home grown, using the USDA database.

Whenever I post figures to the list, I have to format them manually.

This script has a hidden feature. When displaying the nutrient table for a
food, adding '&s=text' to the end of the URL will print the table in a text
format with only the name and quantity fields. It's much easier to
cut-and-paste this into Excel. I will add a 'text only' button sometime.

There are several large databases available, but you have to pay for them.
No thanks!

I have some other databases (the old USDA sugar content one, for example)
that I want to merge with the USDA data. Just a matter of finding the time
to do it.

A full listing from my program is included below. The USDA database
includes amino acid compositions, and compositions for the 'popular' lipids.
It is a pity the USDA database does not include values for more of the w-3
and w-6 polyunsaturated fats.

I want to implement this feature. It's not hard, but I need to find a
half-day to sit down and concentrate on it. Hopefully soon...

I want to list the nutrients per 100 grams of the whole food, nutrients per
100 grams of non-water weight, and nutrients per calorie. And be able to
find the foods with the highest amount of each nutrient using each formula.

I'll let the list know when I make any major changes to the program.

Yours sincerely
Richard Archer.
