Hello all. I just joined the list and wanted to introduce myself. My name
is Heather, my husbands name is David and we have one Daughter, Drake
Jasmine, who is 15 months old. We also just added a 3 year old Boxer female
to our family and we are Feeding her the BARF diet. on my BARF list the
subject of people eating a raw diet as well led to the suggestion of the
Paleolithic diet. I have joined your list to learn more about this way of
eating. I have many concerns about this diet that I hope someone can
explain away. They are as follows.

1. I have always been under the impression that diets high in fiber and
whole grain and low in animal proteins would lead to wieght loss and overall
health improvement (while my husband and I are very overweight we have never
tried that type of diet because of how difficult vegetarian cooks seems to
us and we love meat to much). Could you please explain some of the benefits
of eating paleolithicly are.

2. Is there a concern about heart disease from eating so much animal
proteins?

3. Every time I have gone on a diet that cut back on my carbs I suffered
terribly with very very low energy and an overall sick feeling. Will that
sort of thing happen on this diet?

I am sure I have lots of other questions I just can't think of them right
now. I look forward to hearing your responses. I must admit the idea of
this diet seems a little too good to be true so forgive me if I am a little
skeptical.

Thanks
Heather Bradford
