When I first visited my naturopathic nutritionist to
see about my depression, she put me on a low carb diet
and said it was like a diet out called "The Zone." She
did not have me read the book, she just told me to
stop eating breads, grains, sugar, etc. and that I
could meat, nuts and seeds, dairy, vegies and some
fruits. She explained the science behind it for me,
then had me go home and keep a food diary based on
this prescription. It was so simple, and even without
any mathematical calculations every day, I ended up
losing weight and receiving all the great health
benefits of a low-carb diet. I did finally read the
book "The Zone" but I can't imagine having to figure
out all my daily food that way. What a hassle!!!!
