Dear Listmembers, I called Fleischmann's today, 10/8/99, and spoke to a
representative concerning their margarine. She stated that none of their
table spreads contain any form of gluten. I asked her about any possibility
of cross contamination. She was very knowledgeable about this and mentioned
celiac disease. She said that they do not produce any gluten containing
products so there is no possibility of cross contamination. I think that
this is an important issue to bring up whenever we call a manufacturer. A
product can be gluten free but produced in a contaminated environment.

The products which are GF are:
Fleischmann's Corn Oil Margaine, the unsalted is also lactose free
Chiffon
Blue Bonnet
Parkay
Move Over Butter
Touch of Butter.

Their telephone number is 1-800-988-7808. These products are distributed by
Beatrice Foods. Karen from Central NY, USA
