Thank you, everyone for all of your wonderful, kind and informative
responses. The following is information I have received from other people
in this support group.
Vitamins:
1. Freeda makes all gf and only gf vitamins. There phone # is:
1-800-777-3737. It was recommended (sp?) to me that Quin-Tabs M and Super
Quint 50 were some of the better ones.
2. Other celiacs mentioned the following brands that are gf: Theragram M,
Twinlabs Vitamins, Puritan Pride, Nature Made, Fem Cal Plus, One-a day and
Trader Joes.
3. The vitamins that a lot of celiacs are taking are: B, B and more B we
can't seem to get enough - which is good. Seriously though, B12 and B6 were
amoung the most popular. Next we have Vitamin C, Magnesium, Potassium (eat
those banannas!!!), Folic Acid and Vitamin E. Magnesium is effective in the
movement of bones. Potassium helps pump blood to your heart.
4. Also you can contact the gluten-free mall @ www.glutenfreemall.com for
GF vitamins from their store. Another contact is Life-Plus for nutritional
supplements, make-up, shampoo etc..
5. Make-up: Revlon Colorstay Lipcolor. Revlon Long lasting Moon Drops
Lipstick: specifically Copperglaze Wine and Copperglaze Sienna (someone sent
me a reply and said they actually called on those colors so they are
definitely safe). Almay blush is safe and from my readings I have found
that a lot of Almay products are gf.
6. Shampoos: Johnson and Johnson Ultra Sensative Baby Shampoo (made for
baby fine hair). Biolage shampoo, normalizing variety (gel and hairspray
are okay too).
7. Tom's of Maine shampoo and toothpaste.
8. Lubriderm lotion os ok too.
9. Favorite safe gf foods were: Quaker grits, english muffins from Ener-G
Foods, Tuna, Scrambled eggs with cheese, Health Valley Rice Crunch ems,
Barbara's corn flakes, Prego spagetti sauce, Crisp Brown rice, Frigo and
Stella Ricotta cheese (mmmm-home-made lasagna!!!), Kelloggs (sp?) Corn Pops,
and last but not least, Miss Roben's bagels which can be purchased @
1-301-898-4249.
Okay, that's all for now. This is for those that asked me to please
summarize and post (and also for those that didn't). I Just want to say
thank you for being good listeners and for understanding. Sorry about the
sensative stuff - I can't help it it is just a character thing. Hope this
info. helps you out in some way. Take care and God Bless everyone of you,
