I have just been informed that the radiologist uses Barium that has
.04gr of gluten in the solution as well as sorbitol. They use grain
alcohol, usually wheat to give it a taste. They also have an equivalent
of 4 bags of candy with sorbitiol in it which is made from corn. The
plain barium sulfate does not coat as well as the other solution. What
do you do in a case like this? How do I find some place that will have a
one dose solution? No one ever had this problem before in this office. I
have had barium done 6 yrs ago and it never bothered me and I didn't
know what was in it because I was rushed into it. Any answers would be
appreciated. I have an appt for Friday but can cancel it for next week
if I don't find an appropriate answer. Thanks so very much...What a
problem? I am the only celiac they ever encountered? Rosalie (NJ)
