I have a question about treatment for resistant sprue. I've been
observing a strictly GF diet now for 9 months, but my stools have still
not normalized. My doctor did a second biopsy on me 6 months after I
began the diet, and saw some improvement but still mostly blunted villi.
I believe the lab report came back as "treated disease". I've tried
removing other possible offenders from my diet like milk, corn and soy
to no avail. My doctor has suggested that he might put me on a
specially prepared liquid diet and gradually add in food to find out the
offender. I'd like to know if anyone else has been on such a liquid
diet and if it was helpful? I'd also like to know what other treatment
are being used to treat resistant sprue.
Thanks,
Becky
