Dear Listmembers,

Thanks for all the great responses about cake decorations for birthday cake.
We had the best cake yet since my daughter's diagnosis 3 birthdays ago.

Someone said that Wilton's decorating gel is gf. Some people told how to
mix your own and put it in a pastry bag to decorate.

Duncan Hines Homestyle frostings are gf. We used this with a cake mix from
Miss Robens and Wilton gel along with gf m & m's to decorate. It was a huge
success especially when I handed them the bag of m & m's and let them
decorate their own piece. I was amazed to see just how many m & m's fit on
one piece of cake! And yes even the non celiacs ate it. They were even
glad that it didn't have milk in the cake because one girl is lactose
intolerant. This birthday was almost as easy to plan for as some of our pre
celiac days. The only thing that would have made it easier is if I could
have had a bakery make the cake. But with the wonderful information from
everyone on this list, I was able to whip up a delicious beautiful cake in
no time!

Thanks and happy eating!

Warmly,
Bev Wahl in Chicago
