I am an undiagnosed celiac who has been on a gf diet for over a year.
My allergist recently told me that I should be under the care of a GI so
I can be tested periodically for any type of intestinal lymphoma. Is
there a test for this? Does anyone else get tested for this? This
would be the only reason I would seek the help of a GI. I refuse to go
back on a gluten diet for any tests. The GI I saw over a year ago
pretended he knew about celiac but did none of the appropriate tests
(just a cbc and small bowel series). I have no clue what he thought he
was looking for. He then proclaimed I had IBS and lactose intolerance.
I put myself on a gf diet and immediately felt better. My mistake was
not researching celiac before seeing the GI. Now I will always wonder
if I am at a greater risk for lymphoma. (I realize that the risk is
small, but I am a chronic worrier!) Any advice would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you--Julie
