You only need a tiny amount of gluten to develop gluten enteropathy (coeliac
disease) which is malabsorption related to destruction of the absorptive
lining of the small intestine, due to sensitivity to gluten. Most cases can
be picked up by a simple blood test by your GP, others require a
gastroenterologist and investigation.
