Never believe what "they" say will be comming soon.
I remember from the late 1960s the exact same promises
Also that computers would all be programmed in english and every speech
would result in an immediate written transcript there waiting when you were
done.
I also remember that PL/I (P L  1) was going to be the next big language
So I ain't holding my breath.
would you want an automated house running windows?
