Lewis,

Nothing ever "suddenly" changes. I would suggest that 'CTB' is a program
that is running when you boot up. Did you recently install a new program on
the machine, do an update, or make any other changes? The other option is
that you had a virus, and it just started working, and this is part of it.
I would look in your c:\windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp and see if there
is something there that doesn't belong. This is the directory that Windows
uses to start programs on bootup.

The other place you can look is in the registry. Everything I tell you from
here on out is COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED by Microsoft. Click on Start|Run. In
the Open: box type in "regedit" and press Enter. Browse to
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion and look in
the "Run" and "RunServices" keys for a program or item that looks like it
might be associated with this 'CTB' thing.

Anyway, that's where I would start. If that don't do it, let us know and we
can go from there. HTH.

Kyle

Subject: [PCBUILD] Unwanted DOS bootup
