hello all
I have a Abit BH6 with a overclocked Celleron running at 450
MHz, a WD
8.4 gig HDD, a Viper 550 AGP, Yamaha OPL3 128 sound card, Apache 56k
V.90
modem, a Mitsumi CDROM , and a 8X20 Plexwriter. I just recently low
level formatted
the HDD and reinstalled Windows98. I installed the drivers for the video
card, cdrom,
and the sound card. The mobo software ide busmaster wouldn't load
because it was
looking for Windows95 and not Windows98. Upon rebooting after Windows98
instalation and hardware configuration. It starts to look for a PCI
Serial Controller driver.
So I try to install a driver and appearently the driver isn't in
Windows98 or the mobo
software disk. I've even tried the sound card disk. Nothing. When I go
to Device Manager under Other Devices it shows PCI Serial Controller
with a yellow triangle and
a black exclamation mark. When I go to properties it tells me that the
device is not
installed or the driver needs to be installed. I tried updating the
driver and none could be found. I've looked for it but I couldn't find
it anywhere. I also went to System in Device
Manager and checked the properties for one of the Motherboard Resorces
and I got
the same Message I got under the PCI Serial Controller. Either it isn't
installed or the
driver needs to be installed, and I get the same results when I try to
installed a driver.
I suspect that the mobo might be bad. Are my suspicions correct?
