Hi,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I was just given a
promotion at work & will be handling a W2k server with 5users (3 - Win98 &
2 - 2000 ws) installation using ADSL. The ADSL connection will be using a
SpeedStream 5260 ADSL modem with a static IP (uses NAT), NTS's Enternet 300 software
(PPPoE), and the workstations on a 10/100 hub. Between setting up the
server with DHCP & DNS (had Active Directory already running) and
trying to figure out the best way to set this all up & figured I would to those
people that have more knowledge than I!
I really couldn't figure out the best way (1 NIC vs 2 NIC in the server,
software config. etc ...) I loaded Sybergen's Access Server software and
everyone was online in minutes. Of course the log's where full of error
msg (DNS errors, DHCP failure, etc...). I have a limited trial time on their
software & am not sure if it is worth the purchase or simply reconfigure
the server correctly. Can anyone tell be the best method ( or most
reasonable) to configure this small network.
Thank you!
