Any have any idea how to get hold of Microsoft warranty? I have an Intellimouse Trackball that just died and there is no address on the warranty or on the website. I have spent almost 40 minutes trying to locate something on their site and keep getting automated responses to questions. Anyone?
Hi Charlie -- I would like to query you about a few things before we get to discussing the issue of Microsoft's warranty info. First, are you really certain that the Intellimouse TrackBall has gone to "mouse-land"? If you are not sure, try taking a look at these KB articles, http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q183/9/37.ASP?LNG=ENG&SA=ALLKB&FR=0 and
http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/psssearch.asp?SPR=wmos&T=B&KT=ALL&T1=7d&LQ=scroll+wheel&PQ=PastQuery&S=F&A=T&DU=C&FR=0&D=mouse&LPR=%22Wheel+Mouse%22&LNG=ENG&VR=http%3A%2F%2Fsupport.microsoft.com%2Fsupport&CAT=Support&VRL=ENG&SA=ALLKB&Go.x=11&Go.y=15 to see if any of the articles rectifies the problem. I have the original Intellimouse and I have had some of the glitches mentioned. If none of this works, the trackball is probably defective.
In that instance and depending on whether your mouse was supplied by an OEM or came with your PC, info about their
policy can be found here. Additionally, if you purchased your pointing device as a standalone product, any your documentation is the info. This URL explains your options,
http://support.microsoft.com/directory/directory.asp?SD=GN&FR=0. I have the address some place on one of my other three computers and I also know another list member on another forum that has the direct address. If you can't find your answer at M$ other than paying for the info, let me know off list. HTH.
