What you describe sounds like a common problem with liquid supply
printers.(inkjets, bubblejets,piezonozzle,etc.)
Typically, ink and paper lint dust would adhere to the undercarriage
of your print cartridge holder and brush across your copy in progress.
I've always had to remove the print carriage to clean it effectively.
If this sounds like your circumstance check around for estimates for
a good cleaning.
Otherwise, you could attempt to clean it with a spray solvent safe on
plastics and electronics after minor disassembly.
