Sea weeds and seashells have a definite salty taste in their naturel state.
so if we evolve with them ,it makes sens to have this attraction for salt.
An other comment , salt could serve as a compensentation for highly
mineralised foods grown wild or in non depleted soil (unlike actually on
farm lands). When i eat wild greens or wild game i don't feel the need for
seasonning but with even organic vegetables the taste is too bland for me.
Salt ,as any other substance that the body is not expecting to receive in
the quantity that it get,becomes addictive by throwing off the delicate
balance of regulating systems.
