"Wipe" means write "0" from the very first sector to the very last sector, of
'cos you can terminate this processing with some software, as long as the first
few sector is clean, the harddisk will be "empty". With Quantum harddisk, you
can download a program called "ZeroFill/ZeroDisk" from their website, IBM has a
similar program called "Wipe", however "wipe" from IBM has limitation to 8G
HDD. Norton utility can do the same --> to destroy every harddisk info. I'm
sure if you do a search, you can find much more from the net.
