Subject: [PCBUILD] Computer Randomly Won't Recognize Hard Drive
Basically, my friend's comp. just hung as the hard drive would not
recognize. I rebooted and had it automatically detect the hard drive but it
seems to have happened again. Once I had it auto detect, Windows booted
successfully adn I was able to move about normally, but once it was shut
down, chaos re-occured. Do you suppose that there is a virus or something
along those lines??? Please help!! Thanks!
Hi,
Sounds like a Hard Drive starting to go bad. My father's did a similar
thing (we figured it was simply due to the HD taking longer to spin to speed
than the computer was giving it) He used it for about a month more, and
then it completely died. My advice is, back up the data and get a new HD.
