Actually, this is not true. I had a Trident 8900D 1meg ISA card, and I
absolutely could not install any 'stock' drivers from the Windows CD or the
included driver disk that would allow 800x600@65k, or [log in to unmask] I
forget where I found them, but I did get updated drivers for the card that
would allow all of those resolutions, and after that I always ran
800x600x65k.
