Of course it might not hurt to check out ITN's reporting of the case, which
is easy enough to find, complete with video:
http://www.itn.co.uk/Britain/brit20000314/031420.htm

For those for whom verification too much effort, here's a bit that the
scrupulous Mr. Israel--who writes "Apparently, instead of focusing on the
real evidence - the uncut footage of the film - the trial was dominated by
the testimony of a witness who claimed the Serbs beat people at this
"concentration camp"--left out of his account:

> On the first day of the three-week case, the court was shown extensive
> unedited footage, shot in Bosnia in August 1992, and the completed bulletins.
> It showed Ms Marshall and Mr Williams visiting camps at Omarska and Trnopolje
> in an attempt to verify allegations about the existence of Bosnian Serb-run
> concentration camps.
> Mr Shields said that they saw the "haunted" look on the faces of inmates, the
> menacing faces of their guards, and the camp commander's refusal to give the
> media access to areas other than the canteen where inmates were fed bread and
> soup.
> As they drove on to Trnopolje, the reporting team insisted on stopping and
> "among the sights to greet them was that of an emaciated man stripped to the
> waist in the heat standing behind barbed wire."
> When the journalists left, they took with them an undeveloped reel of film
> secretly taken by an inmate who had told Ms Marshall of torture, beatings and
> rape.

On that latter subject, there is this, also omitted by Mr. Israel:

> GP tells of 'screams and beatings' at Serb camp
> A GP told the High Court in London today how he secretly photographed the
> injuries of beaten inmates at a Serb-run camp during the Bosnian conflict and
> slipped the camera to an ITN news team.
> Dr Idriz Merdzanic, a 41-year-old Bosnian Muslim, said that, along with two
> other doctors and medical staff, he was taken against his will to Trnopolje
> camp in May 1992.
> Speaking through an interpreter, he told Mr Justice Morland and a jury that he
> slept on the uncarpeted floor of a surgery without electricity or water, and
> was not allowed to leave without the guards' approval.
> "No-one really knew the number of people at the camp when I arrived - we are
> talking thousands here," he said.
> About 10 metres away, a laboratory room was regularly used to interrogate
> prisoners, said Dr Merdzanic.
> "We heard the screams and the beatings. Some of the people that they beat up,
> they would bring them to us to help them, to dress their wounds."
> A female veterinary surgeon who was with them had a small camera and Dr
> Merdzanic used it to take photos of the wounds of beaten men.
> "They were taking wooden legs from the tables and they would beat people with
> those, whatever they would find there," he said.
> He also managed to enter the interrogation room and take a few photos one day
> when a nurse was asked to clean it.
> Dr Merdzanic said that he took the photos "hoping then that one day we would
> be able to show them to show everybody what happened."
> The camera was kept hidden in a water-tank in the surgery. "If it had been
> discovered, I would probably have been killed."
> They heard the film crew was coming the day before and decided to hand over
> the camera as they thought it might be their last chance.

This is the "false witness" of the estimable Mr. Israel's piece. I wonder
what it feels like to be beyond shame?

Note that the co-plaintiff, Ian Williams, is The Nation's UN correspondent.
So obviously we need to denounce The Nation as another stooge of Western
Imperialism.
