in a videotaped interview between chomsky and moyer, moyer asks chomsky:
what's the difference between yesterday's civil rights movement and
today's movement. in so many words chomsky said that it's deeper and
broader. when i first heard those words i just thought that it meant
that: the movement is about the issues that concerned the colored folks
between black and white. well i'm beginning to see it differently these
days mainly because it's even deeper and broader than i could possible
have imagened back then. i think chomsky is making reference to the
tyranny of global development, the tyranny of monopoly capitalism. i'm
wondering if i'm reading chomsky correctly or not. any reactions out
there?
