As it happens, I was involved in another interesting bike thing called
Recycle-a-Bicycle. I helped establish a program at a school in East
Williamburg, Brooklyn. The program teaches kids to repair old bikes. The old
bikes are then sold to help fund the program's need for supplies, etc... The
kids use the bikes to take group trips. The program works well. I've been
using one of the bikes, a 1976 Schwin 10 speed, to commute to work for about
four years.
