Why not?
Why not?
I can't imagine that iron present in limestone would only cause staining in
the mortar joints. Could it be iron in the mortar? Or, the dreaded
Aspergillus (mildew)?

Is there iron in limestone?
Is there iron in Indiana limestone?
When repointing limestone why might some joints show an orange stain when
similar joints show no staining?

Thanks,
