Quintel, do you know anyone who might be suitable for the position described
below? Right now, the search has started locally in Malawi and hasn't been
officially extended to the US. However, I'm putting out some feelers just
in case the Malawi search doesn't net a suitable candidate.

Administration and Financial Manager n NDI Malawi

National Democratic Institute (NDI) is an international NGO based in
Washington, DC. NDI Malawi provides technical assistance and training for
political parties, Parliament, and civil organizations to support full
development of democratic practices and institutions. NDI seeks an
experienced, motivated individual for a challenging position in Lilongwe.

Administration duties include supervising administrative and support staff;
interfacing with USAID and other NDI offices and ensuring compliance with
their policies and procedures; supervising procurement; drafting and
administering leases and contracts; overseeing staff housing and office
facilities and equipment; overseeing logistical arrangements for workshops
and international study missions; and writing reports.

Financial duties include managing payroll, bookkeeping and processes for
disbursing and accounting for funds; supervising bank account and monthly
reconciliation; developing detailed line item budgets; generating cash flow
forecasts; and tracking monthly expenditures against budget by line item and
program component.

Administration and financial manager also participates in program activities
as time permits.

Qualifications include university education and successful employment
experience with duties substantially comparable to those listed above.

Required skills include fluency in spoken and written English; ability to
compose clear, concise, accurate written documents; demonstrated facility
with financial management and analysis; high degree of computer proficiency
including spreadsheets, word processing, email, and use of Internet;
excellent problem-solving and communication skills; demonstrated ability to
motivate and manage staff.

Reply no later than 16 November to Malawi Desk, National Democratic
Institute for International Affairs, 1717 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Suite
500, Washington, DC  20036, 202-332-2581 (f).

Provide curriculum vitae with employment and salary history, educational
background, professional references with contact telephone numbers or email
addresses. Please include a writing sample.
