Hello,
My husband has been on a GF diet for over two years and we follow it
strictly. We discovered recently that he was very deficient in Vitamins D
and B12. His doctor prescribed injections which he has been taking
religiously for the past 8 weeks. About 4 weeks ago he developed a burning
sensation in his feet and hands (especially in his feet), also known as a
neuropathy. He is not diabetic nor has any other reason for these symptoms.
The pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the Vitamin supplements he
injects are adamant that it is not a side effect.

Also, my husband experiences intermittent abdominal pain, bloating, burning,
while his gut seems not to be working and his appetite absent. After about
48 - 72 hours hyperactivity in the gut sets in with an increase in appetite.

These episodes appear about every 3 weeks WITHOUT EXPOSURE TO GLUTEN
Whatsoever!.

I would appreciate any input from fellow celiacs on both questions and also
any suggestions for further research. Thanks in advance.
