I received about 30 replies to our sweet rice flour disaster. this is
what I learned:
--Sweet rice flour is also known as sticky rice flour--for it indeed
does make things sticky or glutinous (not gluten) rice flour.
--It is good for using in cookies, pie crusts, brownies, both for
it's flavor and ability to hold things together.
--It can also be used, by the tablespoon, for "too-loose" bread
being made in bread maker.
--As a thickener, it is good for making gravies which are to be
frozen or refrigerated.
--People use it in various proportions (as much as cup for cup with
regular rice flour)--of course, our use of it in a large amount was
purely accidental.
My thanks to all who replied. Our next use of it will be under a much
more controlled setting!! :-) Susan
