I received one response to my query on chopped dates..  Basically there is,
in this persons statement (I don't know how  justified) a good chance of
wheat flour being present unless the product is marked kosher for passover.

I didn't try to talk to the companies about it.  I haven't found this very
usefull anymore  since  they sometimes just try to tell you what they think
you want to hear.

Sorry the  response  wasn't greater.
