Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about a hot brown rice
cereal! I was flooded with replies and got lots of really good ideas...

Most of you like 'Rice and Shine'

Many of you agreed that cooking brown rice with a bit more water and
cooking for a longer period would make a porridge-like cereal.

Several people suggested grinding brown rice in a blender or food
processor and cooking it up like 'Cream of Rice' cereal - then add
spices, sugar, fruit, nuts, milk, or whatever strikes the fancy.

Some of the other suggestions were:

Lundberg Rice of California
Erewhon Brown Rice Cereal
Earth's Best Baby Food

...and a grain called 'teff.'

Again, thanks so much! I'm still eating gluten so that if or when I have
the biopsy, it will be valid (or quasi-valid...seems a negative biopsy
may not tell the whole story either) However, eating gf in the a.m.
seems to help my spirits a bit - I don't go to work feeling and looking
like a pregnant whale - for a few hours I can get slacks buttoned and
don't have to let my belts out. Having nothing at all to do with brown
rice cereal, but feeling the need to vent my frustration _and_ misery,
I'm sick to death of waistless dresses and elastic! Arrrggghhh! :( The
wardrobe thing is a bigger issue than most people would think.
Considering going in for the results of my blood tests in my robe and
fuzzy slippers! <grin> So, now I must thank you all for reading my
blubbering about my shape!

Ayn.
