I understand that regular vanilla is usually extracted with alcohol, and that
alcohol is a grain based item. I understand that vanillin is mostly safe,
since it doesn't need the alcohol. But what about my Ghiardelli milk
chocolate chips, which list vanilla as an ingredient? I haven't had any
noticable reactions from them, and I know I've read on the list that they're
GF. Does this mean that maybe they get their vanilla without extracting it
with alcohol?
Thanks for any enlightenment!
