This is a pain syndrome that is caused by repetive trauma or injury. It is
thought that the sympathetic nervous system sends out to much epinephrine
(stress) and so the body is constantly in this vicious cycle of pain. It
causes skin and bone changes, hair loss over the pain sight, osteoporosis,
etc. The pain is so bad the person doesn't want to move the limb, the limb
can't be touched and eventually the limb can develop contractures. It's a
frustrating disorder for the people who have it.
