I haven't tried this software with a screen reader but thought it may be
of interest to those doing a lot of research writing.

EndNote 3.0: The First Internet Search Client that Creates Bibliographies

BERKELEY, Calif., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Niles Software, Inc. has
announced a major upgrade to EndNote, its popular bibliographic software.
EndNote 3.0 will be the first Internet search client that can search remote
bibliographic databases and instantly turn search results into a properly
formatted bibliography in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect.

Instant Access to a World of Citations

The new version (expected to ship in March 98) instantly links users to
resources such as the Library of Congress, university card catalogs,
Medline and other specialized databases. To connect to these sources, the
user simply opens a connection file and can begin searching. The program
uses one simple interface to search for bibliographic data anywhere in the
world. Prior to this version, users of EndNote had to type in the
references or import them from a text file they had downloaded from online
databases. This complex process is now rendered obsolete.

Link to Full Text Articles

The new version also allows users to launch a web browser from within
EndNote and direct it to a URL. More and more academic journals are
available on the web, and many online bibliographic databases include URLs
that link to these full text articles. As online publishing becomes
ubiquitous, the company expects EndNote to become the card catalog of the
virtual library.

Research Writing Tool and Citation Database Manager

EndNote is a researcher's writing tool that adds bibliographic
functionality to Microsoft Word and WordPerfect. Its been used by more than
150,000 researchers and students to simplify the process of creating
bibliographies and managing of bibliographic references. The program
includes bibliographic styles for more than 300 academic journals.

Requires Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 3.1 or Macintosh. Any PC with a
386DX/25 MHz or higher. 8 MB RAM minimum. Standard connection to the
Internet and a web browser. Remote databases must be Z39.50 compliant.

Available directly from Niles or from resellers and college stores. List
price in the U.S.: $299. Students in the U.S. can purchase EndNote for $99
with a valid student I.D. Special upgrade prices ($79-$99) are available to
owners of previous versions.
