NOTICE OF VIBUG MEETING
The next meeting of VIBUG, (visually Impaired And Blind Users Group) will
be held on Saturday, April 8, from 1 to 4 PM at National Braille Press, 88
St. Stephen street in Boston.
Tim Cumings will discuss digital audio production and demonstrate digital
sound recording and editing using Goldwave, a Windows-based sound editing
program that is very accessible with speech. Goldwave lets you convert old
cassette recordings to digital audio. You can also save your favorite songs
from Cd's on to your hard drive. Built-in noise reduction and other filters
allow you to remove hiss and background noise from old recordings.
Goldwave's editing features let you do precise cutting and pasting of sound
files.
At 11:00 A.M., prior to our regular meeting, Amy Ruell will be conducting
an introductory class on using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01. This class
is open to all but is especially designed for novice users. If you are
planning to attend, please call Amy to register.
