To All:
Just picked up a New (old) PR440FX Intel dual PPro motherboard w/ CPU's,
fans, and VRM (all for less than $200) to build server (already have video
card, drives and case from old server it will replace). (Don't you just love
obsolescence!!). Anyway....
I am currently searching for memory (3.3 v Buffered ECC EDO DIMMS). I went
to the Intel WEB Site and am trying to figure out If I can install 1x 128mb
DIMM or If I need 2x64mb DIMM's. The info on the WEB Site says 2x64 will
work, but shows only a single 16mb DIMM as one of the possible memory
configurations. Does this mean that a single 128 Mb DIMM is a valid memory
configuration for this board? I ask because 2x64 will cost at least $20 more
than 1x128.
Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
cheers,
db
