Harvey,
I think the standard is to leave it on, when you start it. Then shut it
down at night. Although if I am up late, and only sleep for a couple of
hours, I would leave it on. Though there are hundreds of other thoughts as
well.
From my experience, Windows 95/98 tends to get less stable the longer I
leave it on with out at least a reboot. So a fresh start every day is not a
bad thing.
