Kits for growing your own mushrooms: the Real Goods catalogue has them.
Most of the stuff in Real Goods is outrageously expensive to my
penny-pinching mind (geared toward wealthy former hippies who are trying
to be 'green' with their checkbooks and credit cards; they have lots of
solar gadgets); but the mushroom kits are around $30, I think, and at the
rate I eat mushrooms, they'd pay for themselves fairly soon.

Afraid I don't have a copy of the Real Goods catalogue at hand, but they
probably have a web site, and they definitely have an 800#.
