Simply put, this may be a great lecture for international studies but being
proud of my Africanism, I am deeply disheartened and strongly disgruntled by
this quote : " We have gone
>down so low to such an extent that, even when moving from nation to nation
>on the continent, africans do not want to be identified with nationalities
>on the continent. We are ashamed of being Africans."
WOW!!........BROTHERS AND SISTERS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!
LAST TIME I CHECKED, WE WERE LIVING IN AN IMPERFECT WORLD WITH IMPERFECT
PEOPLE. THIS IS THE LAST THING AFRICA NEEDS. LET'S BE OPTIMISTIC IN OUR
REFLECTIONS, PEOPLE. UNTIL THEN SHALL PROGRESS PREVAIL....

Nice piece! The real challenges of any African country (as well as
continental Africa) can't be put any better. It is important to dream big,
but it is prudent to think small in our execution - tackle the relatively
and seemingly straight forward issues first. To realise any sustainable
progress and respect, I believe African countries need to work diligently on
making key institutions - such as judiciary, political, financial/economic,
education, etc. - work adequately well. (they do not necessarily need to
work "perfectly").
