No, my son didn't wear that brace; just immobilizers for I believe 2 days
after surgery, then just at night for acouple of weeks till we were sure he
would sleep with his legs straight and not rolled up in fetal position. I'll
pray for you. My son was ambulatory but walking on toes and the surgery was
the best thing. He now walks flat footed and isn't falling from knees
hitting, but he is still working on better balance due to poor truck control
and relearning correct walking after all these years, so he walks slow and
loses balance once in while. The anesthesiologist was good too, although my
son got scared when the mask was placed on him (it was bubble gum scented).
He woke up yelling for mom and said he hurt, so the nurses gave more valium
via the I.V. which is placed after they are out. He slept three hours home
and we gave him more meds shortly after for pain control and spasms. I felt
the nurses were super attentive through the procedure. Hope all goes well.
