Hi Listers:
I called it a talking printer, which is why i got nowhere trying to order
a printer like my daughter's, which tells her if she is running out of
paper, or needs to replace one of the ink cardridges, or if a jam is
starting; I heard the voice over the phone, clear as a bell, and was
instantly sold. Unfortunately the Lexmark company had no clue what i was
talking about until finally I got the right phrase , being as picky as
computers are generally.
I now have a Lexmark ink jet ; all the ink jet printers have the verbal
feedback option which can be on or off. One needs a sound card and
speakers to benefit from this adaptive technology which is definitely a
benefit to the visually impaired, and, I thought, worth passing on.
