I recommend the Creative DVD w/ the decoder card, even though the PII and
PIII systems will support software decoding, the hardware decoding will
allow for less CPU utilization, if you willing to sacrifice a PCI slot. The
decoder card has outputs to Dolby digital and TV thru RCA connectors if you
want to watch your DVD movies on your television.
I went with the kit, it was easy to install, and I was watching DVD
movies(great!) in no time!

Subject: [PCBUILD] 1st DVD system
Good evening all,
I have a customer looking for an estimate on a system with a DVD
drive. Since I have no previous experience with DVD, I thought I
would ask here.
What are good or not good brands to use?
Is there anything special to know about setting it up?
Does it only work with specific video cards?
