My guess is that this is a weak circuit trace on the motherboard. When it
is cold it is not making good contact but after the circuit board heats and
expands you have good contact. I have an old AST 486 that does something
similar. When I first turn it on Post won't start...but as soon as I power
off / power on everything is fine. This has been going on for three years
.... I have pulled every card and changed every device.....I finally gave
up and accepted this idiosyncrasy.
