HP has software that enables the 4C, and 6000 series scanners to be used
over a network with their HP Precision Scan 2.8 software for SCSI scanners.
I do not have a network but I have the option in the software to enable
scanner sharing over a Lan. I am unable to comment on how well this works
but when I enable sharing with their software, an icon of the scanner
appears on the taskbar . If you have a Scanjet 4C you can purchase the
upgraded software from HP, they are no longer letting you just download
driver updates\upgradere. I believe the HP Precision Scan software comes
with the 6000 series scanners.
