I have no idea how the authors came up with the name NEANDERTHIN, it
would be an interesting story to hear told?

The name of the "rose" is not of consequence and I don't think it will
effect my ability to make a "good for me" jerky nor make some very wise
food choices that are bettering by health and feeling of well being.
