Hi everybody.  sorry it has taken so long to summarize, but here goes:

other recommendations for restaurants in this area were:
        Cafe Dalat 3143 Wilson blvd -703-276-0935 _vietnamese- (fried crispy
rolls-rice paper wraps)) and (soft rolls-rice)(peanut and clear fish sauces0
        Austin Grille -Betheseda and georgetown.  they should have a GFlist-
just ask for it rec;(cheese enchiladas, texas rib eye steak, grilled
seafood, and Austin wings with gf ranch dressing,  flan
        John hancock's - near white house
        The four provinces (irish) -call ahead
        Stuart Anderson steak houses
        Fast food:  Boston market (potatoes, plain veggies, chicken--no
sauces on anything)
        In-N-Out burger:  will make burgers wrapped in lettuce (drive thru
chain)

thanks to everyone with all their input.  My trip is delayed until next
month, but even better with all this information.  I hope my eating out
experience will be better this time as I 'm sure it will be with all this
