I just read Dona's wonderful ideas for traveling by car with a kitchen
in a suitcase, and decided to share our Kitchen-in-a-Bag ideas.

For Father's Day, our son gave my husband a zippered bag that he bought
at REI, a recreational outdoors shop.  It is called a Camper Kitchen
Kit, designed by Outdoor  Research,  and is designed for backpacking.
It is made in Seattle and the tag says the phone is 888 4-ORGEAR.  Web

The whole thing weighs 17.5 oz.  It zips on 3 sides, much like an
overnight toiletry bag, with a hook to hang it up.  Inside is high
quality tableware and various kitchen necessities.  There are little
loops and little bottles inside plus various zippered compartments to
hold whatever you want to put in them.  Our son subsidized it with an
excellent serrated knife, corkscrew, meat thermometer and other things
he knew we  might want.  I am the celiac, and instantly confiscated it
to tailor it to my needs.  Bottles of GF soy sauce,  wine vinegar,
spices, etc.

Our travel generally begins with a plane trip, and this will tuck into
the suitcase or duffel bag.  Once we are wherever we are going, whether
hotel, Band B, home or apartment, I have a good start for what I need.
(And my husband gets to eat well too)  We enjoyed cooking wherever we
traveled for many years before celiac became a part of our life.  This
will make it easier for us.  Hope it helps some of you too.
