I have USB hub with a serial port, a parallel port and 3 USB. My
computer has an internal modem which has the second serial port on the
back of the computer disabled. When I connect my sewing machine card
writer to the serial port on the hub, it conflicts with the modem and
the modem will not work. Is there some way I can disable the internal
modem, use my external modem and enable the disabled port on the back of
the machine. The software for the hub sets up the serial port with a
driver for a modem. The card writer doesn't require a driver but it
will not let me disable the one it (the hub software) installed. I
guess this is clear as mud.
