Well my first thought is can you use speeds greater than 33.6 where you
plan to use the computer? Where I live 56k is available, but the fastest I
can get over the telephone wires to my house is 26.4. So I don't need a
faster modem. I need better telephone wiring or to live closer to the
phone company switch. You may not need to upgrade at all.
