>Achrlorhydria (no acid) or hypochorhydria (low acid) in the stomach.
Does
>this problem sound familiar to some of you? I have done some reading
on

and my
>ferrotin level is also very, very low; doctor's can't understand why.
My
>monthly flow are very light (2 -3 days), I was told that I could be
bleeding
>internally, how can I when I don't have any evidence of it? I was also
told
>that I am a celiac, with IBS now I wonder if their diagnose is correct
or
>the main problem is not having enough stomach acid to digest and absorb
the
>protein/food(s) vitamin and minerals I eat.
Just before I diagnosed myself celiac and went on a gluten free diet, I
was not producing acid in my stomach. I know, because I was vomiting
everything up within 5 to 20 minutes after eating, and there was NO acid
mixed in with the chewed food. I also was not producing saliva. I was
EXTREMELY sick, with no explanation. Patches of skin were falling out
of my arms. Hair falling out. Horrible. Later I learned that I had
been diagnosed with celiac disease at age 7, and I re-figured it out at
age 52.
My personal opinion (of no special value, I suppose) is that the decades
of malnutrition due to the untreated celiac disease had caused my body
to stop functioning properly. I was literally dying, organ by organ. I
did at that time prior to self-diagnosis have unexplained liver failure
and jaundice, low hemoglobin levels, and all kinds of serious problems
that no one was able to put into a "syndrome" and diagnose in a way that
would help me.
>Has anyone on this list had/have this problem? If so how did you deal
with
>it?
The only way to feel good and get healthy is a strict, no-nonsense
gluten free diet. There is a List here at St. Johns that helps with
that.
Since I went on the paleo diet my problem hasn't changed I still have
>the same health problems OR I should say it has slightly improved but
not
>much. Has anyone had any experience in taking the Hydrocloric acid?
Did it
>help you? I am taking the vitamin B Complex, but will it be enough? I
>don't want to go to my doctor to have more tests done if I can get this
>problem under control on my own with vitamin and diet. Your help will
be
>greatly appreciated.

Again, if you can't commit to the gluten free diet, you can't get well.
That stuff is POISON. You have to stop looking at it as food.
