Kathy - I have 2 kids - girl is almost 3 and boy is 6 months. The first
one was allergic to dairy from the get go. Nothing life threatening, but
she would projectile vomit feedings on me. Had terrible reflux as a
baby. Covered in eczema by 2 months. She's also intolerant to eggs,
corn, chocolate, and grapes. She can tolerate a small amount of cooked
milk like in pancakes. We pretty much just avoid it. The hard one to
find was the corn - we were giving her meds to help counteract the reflux
and such that was loaded with corn!
I was slightly LI, but became severely LI or allergic after eliminating
dairy from my diet for nursing. It seems to have improved with the
second pregnancy and I can eat cheese and baked goods. I wouldn't touch
a glass of milk with a ten foot pole - never liked the stuff anyway!
6MO seems to be allergic to something, but haven't pinned it down yet.
Seems like citrus, chocolate, and something else. I probably should
completely eliminate dairy again, but I'm afraid to after what happened
the first time.
Hubby seems to have developed a mild LI too in recent years. Used to
drink it by the gallon, now just uses it in coffee.
We're in Northern CA and I've been around for about 2 1/2 years.
Kathy P.
