Comrades, I don't know about you, but I haven't read too many Left
articles about Montenegro. It's clear that all our "principled"
Left intellectuals, are waiting until after a new round of
anti-Yugoslav propaganda rises up in the capitalist press. Then
they will line up in file to announce to us, how important it is to
support "Montenegran Self Determination" against the evils of Serbian
nationalism, and the Devilish Milosevic. Their "principles" know
no end, but the beginning is always when the pro-war hysteria begins.
In this context, many of us antiwar activists are running out of
patience with Left silence about the need to struggle against
militarism. People like Pat Buchanan and Justin Raimondo even begin
to look good, compared to the stale liberalism that has swept over the
Socialist Left during the Clinton era.
Go ahead, call names and get hysterical about all those that actually
are willing to ally on some level with these Far Right forces.
Personally I find it less repugnant, than all those claiming to be
populists and Socialists that line up constantly as apologists for The
Democratic Party. Not to mention those that claim to oppose The
Democrats, but still manage to trail along giving implicit support to
Clinton's foreign policy.
Enjoy the article below by Justin Raimondo.
.........................Sincerely, Tony Abdo
